Details of event
On 8 March, in the Nokia Concert Hall, one of the world’s most famous romance music guitarists, Francis Goya, will be performing. Following many decades of a highly successful career, Goya will be arriving in Estonia as part of the “Woman in Love” tour.
The Women’s Day Concert in Tallinn comes with the artist’s own special dedication to women and love. Frances Goya has recorded 40 albums and is connected to Estonia by a special relationship: ten years ago, the artist Raimond Valgre released a music album. The album was one of the highest selling in Estonia and its licenses have been sold to a total of eight countries around the world. At the upcoming concert, Goya will be performing a selection of Valgre’s more famous songs.
Francis Goya has experimented with many styles of music, but he best known as an interpreter of romantic Spanish and Latinesque melodies.
Through the years, the artist’s favourite instrument has remained the classical guitar; in the handling of which Goya ranks as one of the world’s most professional.
Several years ago, Francis Goya moved together with his family from Belgium to Morocco’s eastern city of Marrakesh. He established a music school there, where he and his daughters teach local children together.
Francis Goya, real name Francis Weyer, was born to a musical family in Belgium and began playing guitar in various rock bands at the age of 16. Goya’s professional music career began in 1970, when he, together with his brother, founded the soul band The Jivaros, and began to work with artists already well-known on the world stage, such as Demis Roussos, Barry White and Vicky Leandros.
In 1975 Francis Weyer became solo artist Francis Goya, whose fast career began after the release of the hallmark album “Nostalgia”, which earned gold and platinum status in Europe, Asia and South America. During the 1980s, Goya experimented with various orchestras and his own unique melodic, sentimental and sunny style developed. Goya has released more than 40 albums, which have sold more than 20 million copies around the world.
Prices for tickets to the Francis Goya concert start at EUR 29 and go on sale on 15 December through Ticketpro outlets and webshop.
